In the heart of Okayama’s serene mountain countryside lies the Arts & Crafts Village, a place where time slows and creativity blossoms. Once an abandoned elementary school, it has been lovingly transformed into a haven for artistry, a café, a disability support centre, and a home. I spent a month there, under Toyomi’s gentle guidance, learning the ancient art of Saori weaving, indigo dyeing, crafting yarn, sewing, and nurturing the land for organic cooking. I made this video for Toyomi’s social accounts and as a way to return, even for a moment, to the peaceful rhythm of life in the mountains.
